Nabarangpur, 26th Aug 2025: Nabarangpur MLA Gauri Shankar Majhi visited Kosagumuda block. During the tour, he inspected the border villages of Tikira Kusumi, Alupadar, and Ukiapali under Binjili Panchayat, situated along the Chhattisgarh border.
He visited health centers, Anganwadi centers, and schools in these areas. On learning that many government offices remain closed and that officials seldom visit the border villages, the MLA expressed displeasure. He also found that several employees were absent without leave applications. Later, he held a review meeting at Kosagumuda Block Office.
The MLA inquired whether beneficiaries had received the third installment of the Subhadra Yojana. He also interacted with villagers about their needs, shortages, and difficulties, and whether they were getting the benefits of government schemes.
He ordered officials to seek explanations from absentee government staff, and expressed strong displeasure when he found health centers closed. The MLA also inspected houses damaged by low-pressure rainfall and directed the RI and Tehsildar to take immediate action.
In the review meeting, he was upset to learn that 1,876 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana were left incomplete. He instructed officials to reach grassroots villages, listen to people’s problems, and resolve them quickly, while ensuring that all state welfare schemes reached the rural population.
Present in the meeting were BDO Ashish Kumar Tripathy, Tehsildar Tularam Muduli, Medical Officer Aditya Behera, and officials from various block-level departments.
