Nabarangpur: The Odisha Livelihood Mission Shakti EC Sangha of Nabarangpur Block submitted a seven-point charter of demands addressed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha, the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, and the Minister for Women and Child Development. The members began their rally from the Nabarangpur Bus Stand and marched to the Block Office, where they handed over the memorandum through the Nabarangpur BDO/DO.
The event was coordinated and addressed by Rameshwar Bishoyi, District Advisor of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), Bishnu Prasad Sad Bishoyi, District Secretary of BMS, and Pramila Samantaray, District Secretary of Odisha Livelihood Mission Shakti EC Sangha.
Key Demands Included:
- 1. A formal declaration recognizing Odisha Livelihood Mission Shakti EC members as government employees.
- 2. Monthly salary payments should follow the government’s standard daily wage rate.
- 3. All EC members should be made permanent in their respective positions.
- 4. In case of accidental death while on duty, the family of the deceased should receive compensation of Rs. 10 lakhs, and in the case of natural death, Rs. 5 lakhs.
- 5. Upon retirement at the age of 60, EC members should receive Rs. 5 lakhs as retirement assistance and a monthly pension of Rs. 5,000.
- 6. Provision of insurance, ESI (Employees’ State Insurance), and Provident Fund coverage to EC members.
- 7. Salaries should be disbursed within the 5th of each month.
Around 60 EC members were present during the submission of the memorandum.
