Nabarangpur: Minister of School & Mass Education, Scheduled Caste & Scheduled Tribe Development, and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Shri Nityananda Ganda, is often in discussion for his simple lifestyle. During his visit to Nabarangpur district today, his act of drinking Mandia (finger millet) porridge once again became a point of public attention. While the government has been implementing various programs promoting Mandia, the minister himself chose to consume it, spreading awareness about its benefits.
Today, the minister visited Ward No. 12 of Umarkote Municipality, where he interacted with residents to understand their challenges. During this visit, he also drank Mandia porridge at a Dalit woman’s house. The local residents were delighted by his presence, and he assured them that all necessary measures would be taken to resolve their issues.
Highlighting the government’s focus on millet production and consumption, Minister Ganda emphasized that both the central and state governments have officially recognized millet as an important crop. He urged people from all sections of society to include millet in their daily diet, promoting its benefits for health and nutrition.
