Bhubaneswar, 23rd July 2025: Strict Action Against Petrol Sale in Bottles – Announces Minister Krushnachandra Patra Petrol will no longer be sold in plastic bottles. This was officially announced today by Food and Supply Minister Krushnchandra Patra. From now on, no one will be allowed to carry or sell petrol in plastic bottles. Selling petrol on roadsides or in public places will invite strict action, the minister warned. Stringent inspections will begin from tomorrow across the state. Even petrol pumps will be checked to ensure compliance. Only at essential locations, petrol may be carried in glass or tin containers, not plastic. The announcement came following a meeting between the minister and petrol pump associations. This move is aimed at preventing accidents, hoarding, and illegal resale of fuel, and ensuring public safety.
