Minister Krushna Chandra Patra Urges Ineligible Beneficiaries to Return Ration Cards

Bhubaneswar Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra has once again appealed to ineligible beneficiaries to return their ration cards. He urged those in rural areas with a monthly income of Rs10,000 and those in urban areas earning Rs15,000 to voluntarily surrender their ration cards. The government will not take action at this stage, but beneficiaries should return their cards voluntarily.

Since the portal opened yesterday, 1,500 applications have already been received. Previously, six lakh applicants were waiting for ration cards. So far, 80,000 ineligible beneficiaries have returned only 12,000 cards. According to the latest update, around 4,500 government employees have also surrendered their ration cards, the minister stated.
