Bhubaneswar: A meeting was held on Tuesday by the Milita Mancha (United Forum) of victims defrauded by various financial institutions at the conference hall of Nabodaya Yuva Sangathan. The victims of the chit fund scam expressed strong resentment, stating that despite repeated assurances of refund by the government, no concrete steps have yet been taken by the Chief Minister to address their grievances.

The Milita Mancha highlighted that this is the third time they have raised these demands, reiterating through two previous press conferences that all depositors, both big and small, should be refunded. However, the government has taken no visible action, which was termed as a matter of deep concern and irony during the meeting.

Major Demands Presented:

Identification of affected depositors through Tehsils.

Immediate legal action against fraudulent institutions.

Monitoring of such institutions and recovery of funds to refund depositors.

The forum warned that if the government continues to ignore their demands, chit fund victims across the state will be forced to take to the streets in protest.

Present at the press conference were:

Jayanta Das (State President)

Madhusudan Biswal (General Secretary)

Ravi Das (Senior Journalist and Advisor)

Anuradha Subuddhi (Joint Convener)

Pradeep Kumar Maharana (Joint Secretary)
