Asurali, Dec, 27:  On the occasion of the first death anniversary of veteran activist Dibakar Sahu, a memorial meeting was organized at his residence premises in Palasahi. Dibakar Sahu was a former member of the CPI(M) Bhadrak District Committee, a former Samiti Member of Palasahi Panchayat, and a lifelong activist who had established and supported several educational institutions in the Dhusuri and Dhamnagar areas.

The program was organized by the Aajibana Sangrami Dibakar Smruti Manch (Memorial Forum). Speakers recalled that Dibakar Sahu remained committed to socialist ideals until the end of his life, dedicating himself to the service of ordinary people and consistently striving to protect the fundamental rights of the working class.
It was announced by the Memorial Committee that a demand would be placed before the district administration to install a bronze statue of veteran activist Dibakar Sahu at Betaligaan Bazaar within the coming year.

The memorial meeting was chaired by Smruti Sansad President Chandrasekhar Nayak. Among those who paid tribute were CPI(M) district committee member Bikash Nath, retired lecturer Rabindra Behuria, farmers’ leader Markanda Jena, CPI(M) Dhusuri Area Committee Secretary Ramesh Sahu, farmers’ leader Satyamurti Behera, retired teacher Duryodhan Khatua, senior leader Yudhishthir Mahapatra, youth leader Kailash Barik, youth leader Prashant Sahu, farmers’ leader Chitrasen Jena, teachers’ leader Chitrabhanu Das, youth leader Ashish Sahu, and student leader Ms. Sangeeta Mahalik, among others.
