Dabugaon, Jan, 01: A meeting of the Dabugaon Brahmin community was held in the premises of the local Jagannath Temple. The meeting was presided over by Shivaprasad Mishra, the president of the community. The chief speaker, senior community member Ajay Vallabh Panda, advised the Brahmin community on how to stay well-organized and protect their religion and cultural traditions.
The meeting was attended by over 100 Brahmin families from the block. Discussions were held regarding the identification of land for the Brahmin community and construction of houses.
It was decided that on Akshaya Tritiya in the upcoming month of Vaishakh, the community would organize a collective thread ceremony (Brahmin initiation ritual) for children of underprivileged Brahmin families. For this purpose, a 10-member committee was formed and assigned responsibilities.
The editor of the Brahmin community, Sanjay Kumar Padhi, read out the monthly report, and the meeting concluded with thanks offered to Ratha (chariot).
