Nabarangpur, 30th Oct 2025, In Nabarangpur district, a joint meeting of the Health Department and the District Social Welfare Department was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Maheswar Swain in the Ashok Mehta Auditorium. The purpose of this meeting was to identify the obstacles related to maternal and child health and proper nutrition and to address them through effective action plans. The meeting also focused on improving the health of mothers and children and ensuring that all government-provided facilities reach the beneficiaries.
Discussions included how pregnant women from all remote areas of the district can safely access maternity homes for safe delivery.
All CDPOs (Child Development Project Officers) and medical officers were instructed to work together for effective implementation. The CDMO (Chief District Medical Officer) of Nabarangpur was directed to arrange for birth certificates for all children aged 0–6 years. Additionally, children weighing less than 2 kg or malnourished were to be tested and treated within three months, including measures to prevent blindness.
It was also emphasized that all Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers should be informed about the provision of free medical treatment.
