Rayagada 17th July 2025: On the first Monday of the holy month of Shravan, a large number of Kawariya devotees gathered at the famous ancient Shaivite shrine of Panchamukheswar Devagiri, located in Kalyansinghpur block of Rayagada district.
This revered shrine, situated just 2 kilometers from the district headquarters, lies nestled between two hills. In a sacred cave between these hills, devotees worship the Panchamukheswar Sphatik (crystal) Shiva Lingam.
To fulfill their heartfelt wishes, devout Bol Bam pilgrims, observing religious vows, collect holy water from the Nagabali and Kalyani rivers following all rituals. They then walk barefoot and climb 545 steps up the hill to perform Jalabhishek (ritual water offering) on the crystal Shiva Lingam.
After offering water, these vow-bound devotees pray for the fulfillment of their personal desires and believe that their wishes will come true. With strong faith and hope in Lord Panchamukheswar, they come to this ancient shrine seeking divine blessings.
