Polasara,  A significant meeting of the Marada Mahima Promotion Committee, formed to preserve and promote the sanctity of Shri Jagannath’s sacred site at Marada, was held on Sunday at Public Women’s College, Banaramachandrapur (Nuapalli). The meeting was presided over by social worker Shyam Sundar Sahu.

The agenda included discussions on registering the trust and planning future activities. It was emphasized that devotees visiting Marada should not only have darshan of the sanctum (Garbhagriha) but also be encouraged to perform parikrama (circumambulation) of the temple and have darshan of associated deities. To facilitate this, priests will be advised to motivate and guide devotees accordingly.

The committee also resolved to request the administration to establish a police outpost in the temple premises to ensure security and orderly darshan for the devotees.

A proposal was made to develop a tourist corridor connecting Khallikote Jagannath Temple, Marada Temple, Maa Singhāsanī Peetha, Biranchinarayan Temple, and Budhakhola. It was suggested that government transport services be arranged daily to these religious sites, and relevant departmental officials would be urged to consider the plan.

Additionally, the committee proposed the construction of fencing and plantation of trees around the Marada temple, as well as awareness campaigns to be organized at the panchayat level at regular intervals.

To manage publicity and heritage preservation, a Marada Media Committee will be formed. The committee also plans to draw the attention of the block administration toward installing a plaque detailing the history of Marada.

These initiatives are aimed at both protecting and widely promoting the significance of Marada. This sentiment was strongly echoed during the meeting.

Among those present at the meeting were:

Committee Secretary Kulamani Sahu

Organizational Secretary Pabitra Kumar Nayak

Professor Manoj Kumar Sahu

Advocate Bijaya Kumar Samantray

Treasurer Sadashiva Nayak.
