Patna, 10th Oct 2025:  Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Jitan Ram Manjhi, has increased tensions within the BJP regarding seat-sharing arrangements in the state. He has stated that his party, the Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), will not contest the elections unless they are allotted 15 seats.

Manjhi made this demand through a post on his ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account, sharing a poem by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar to reinforce his point. According to him, the HAM has the potential to win 8–9 seats, and if they are given 15 seats, they can secure victory on those, which would strengthen their political presence in Bihar.

He emphasized that getting fewer than 15 seats would not be beneficial. Without the allotment, they will not contest even a single seat. He warned that if the demand is not met, the party will remain just a registered political outfit without real electoral relevance.

However, Manjhi has clarified that despite the pressure, the HAM will remain with the NDA. He has called for a board meeting of the party in Patna on Friday, October 10, where he is expected to make important announcements regarding the party’s election strategy.
