Malkangiri’s Basanta Kumar Rana Honoured with National Teacher Award

Malakanagiri, 1st Sept 2025:  Basanta Kumar Rana, a dedicated teacher from the Kandel Government High School in Malakanagiri, has been honored with the prestigious National Teacher Award for the year 2025.

Rana, who serves as the Headmaster of the school, has been a passionate advocate for the education and holistic development of students, especially in the tribal areas. His tireless efforts in improving the educational standards in the Adiwasī (tribal) regions have earned him this recognition.

His approach to teaching goes beyond academics; he has been instrumental in providing a nurturing environment for the all-round growth of his students. His dedication to education has earned him the respect and admiration of his students and the community.

As part of the award, Basanta Kumar Rana will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000 and a certificate of merit. He will receive the award on September 5, 2025, at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

On this occasion, the District Education Officer of Malakanagiri, Chitta Ranjan Panigrahi, congratulated Rana and wished him continued success in his teaching career.
