Malkangiri, 20th Sept 2025: The inaugural celebration of the “Healthy Woman, Empowered Family” campaign was organized today at the Kalimela Community Health Center in Malkangiri.
Sanjay Sarkar, representative of the local MP, attended the program as Chief Guest, while Harbilas Mandal, representative of the Malkangiri MLA, was present as Guest of Honour.
Also in attendance were:
Dr. Nihar Ranjan Praharaj, Chief of the District Health and Family Welfare Department
Mousumi Mishra, District Program Officer
Shibaprasad Praharaj, Immunization Data Assistant
From the state-level monitoring team,
Saroj Panigrahi, RMNCH Consultant, and
Mohammad Rafi, Cluster Program Consultant, were also present.
Several medical specialists participated in providing services to patients, including:
Dr. Prafulla Kumar Behera – Medicine Specialist
Dr. Nihar Ranjan Praharaj – Dermatologist
Dr. Santosh Mishra – Orthopedic Specialist
Dr. Ashok Kumar Khamari – Ophthalmologist
Dr. Abid Hussain – ENT Specialist
Dr. Niranjan Behera – Psychiatrist
Along with them, Dr. Dinabandhu Mahananda, the Gynecologist at Kalimela, provided treatment to women patients.
During this health camp, 158 women patients registered and underwent various blood tests and received treatment.
The event also involved:
Supervisors from the Child Development Project,
Anganwadi workers,
School teachers,
who helped conduct health checkups.
ASHA workers, nursing staff, and women officials from the Health Department also participated in the screening process.
Under Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, 46 beneficiaries were issued health cards during the event.
A free blood donation camp was also organized, and 22 units of blood were collected.
As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, 25 saplings were planted in the Kalimela Community Health Center premises.
A large number of local residents from Kalimela actively participated in the event.
This campaign was inaugurated at the national level by Prime Minister Narendra Damodardas Modi, from Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
