Bhubaneswar, 20th Nov 2025: Due to prolonged disputes over land in the state, revenue losses are occurring. The land acquisition process is being delayed because of these issues. While the state government is focusing on industrial development, these delays in land acquisition are causing setbacks. Many government lands are still under illegal encroachment.
To address this, the state government is preparing a comprehensive roadmap to resolve all land-related issues. Encroached land will be brought under government control. Homeless people will be provided with housing. The Revenue and Disaster Management Minister, Suresh Pujari, has stated that significant amendments will be made in the state revenue law.
Speaking at a joint meeting of District Collectors and Revenue Officers held at the Lokseva Bhawan Convention Center, Minister Pujari said that after assuming office, the new government has introduced several reforms in land laws. The process of amending land records (jamipatta) has been simplified. Since the state government has plans for various large-scale industrial establishments, these reforms will help in facilitating smoother land acquisition.
