Jharigaon, 5th Nov 2025: In Bidri Guda village under Dhodra Panchayat, Jharigaon block, Navarangpur district, the main deity Maa Bidri, Badhu Bhatra (aged 75), has passed away. She was suffering from age-related ailments. News of her demise spread in the evening on Tuesday, casting a shadow of grief over the area.
Upon hearing the news, many prominent individuals visited her residence to pay their last respects. From her childhood, Badhu had dedicated herself to the service of Maa Bidri. Local residents worshipped her as a living embodiment of the deity.
Following her passing, former Member of Parliament Ramesh Majhi, former MLA Prakash Majhi, and other notable personalities expressed their condolences. Local residents also conveyed their sympathies to her family and offered words of comfort.
She was taken to the village cremation ground and given the final rites. Hundreds of people from the area participated, bidding farewell to Badhu Bhatra.
