Rayagada: Mahima Gantayat, a budding poetess from Rayagada, has secured the third position in the English category as the Best Poet in the National Talent Award Competition organized by Poetic Essence, one of the renowned publication houses based in Mumbai. For her literary excellence, she has been felicitated with a certificate and a memento during the event.
Engaged in creative writing in both English and Hindi since her school days, Mahima’s works have been regularly published in various magazines. She has also received awards in numerous creative competitions. As a young writer, she has carved a respectable position for herself in the literary world.
Besides her literary achievements, she is also well-known for her oratory skills and has participated in many speech competitions. Currently a Class 12 (Arts) student at Rayagada Women’s College, Mahima has brought pride to her institution through her outstanding performances in debates, poetry recitations, and other contests.
Mahima is the daughter of renowned satirical poet of Rayagada, Satyanarayan Gantayat. On her recent achievement, she received congratulatory messages and best wishes for a bright future from several eminent personalities including noted academician Dr. Dushmant Kumar Mahanti, Sahitya Akademi member Sushant Kumar Nayak, College Principal Archana Pattnaik, Satyabadi Pati, Dr. Dwitichandra Sahu, and Dr. Rajesh Padhi, Director of Centurion University, among others.
