Kuapada, 3rd Sept 2025: In a recent performance evaluation conducted by the State Police Department, Mahanga Police Station in Cuttack district has secured the top position in both station ratings and officer efficiency metrics.
Among the 21 police stations in Cuttack district, Mahanga Police Station stood out for its effective use of network surveillance (NetWar Tungi) to identify and track criminals, achieving significant success in crime control. As a result, Mahanga IIC (Inspector-in-Charge) Tapan Kumar Raut was ranked first in the district for his exemplary investigative work and operational effectiveness.
Raut’s outstanding individual performance has earned him district-level recognition. Additionally, Narendra Samal, a staff member of the station who contributed significantly to CCTNS-based criminal identification, has also been commended for his efficiency.
Particularly notable is Mahanga Police Station’s strategy of forming a dedicated team to control crime and apprehend offenders in the region. This proactive policing model and leadership style of IIC Raut have been praised by senior officials in the police department.
Furthermore, in the state-level rankings, IIC Tapan Kumar Raut has secured the 4th position across Odisha, which is a remarkable achievement.
