Jeypore, 11th Sept 2025: On the occasion of Local Self-Governance Day, several newly constructed facilities including a cattle shelter, park, and MCC (Micro Composting Center) were inaugurated by Jeypore MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati, under the auspices of the Jeypore Municipality in Koraput district.
Among the inaugurated projects were:
A new cattle shelter
A park at Meghamal Tota in Jeypore
An MCC facility at Makaput
A new shed at the second daily market
MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati stated that although funds had been available for a while, the cattle shelter has now been constructed anew using those funds. He emphasized the long-standing need for such a facility and praised the shelter’s quality, saying it has been built very attractively.
He appealed to the public for their cooperation in maintaining the facility and expressed hope that the community would support this initiative.
Shelter Management & Future Plans
The MLA also informed that a committee, along with government employees, would be assigned for the maintenance and monitoring of the shelter.
He also mentioned arrangements such as:
Feeding troughs (kunda)
Supply of grass
Other necessary provisions
He further said that stray cattle roaming the main roads of Jeypore would be collected by the municipality and housed in the cattle shelter. Moreover, if anyone wishes to adopt the cattle later, some financial support would be provided to take them from the shelter.
