Nabarangpur On Saturday, the Agriculture Department of Nabarangpur district conducted enforcement raids at several seed selling centers in Chandahandi block. The inspection was carried out by Nabarangpur and Umerkote District Agriculture Officer Anil Kumar Praharaj, District Agriculture Officer Pranaya Kumar Mantri, Seed Inspection Officer Prashant Kumar Bag, and Chandahandi Tehsildar Sahadev Kuturga. They raided a total of seven seed selling outlets in the block.
Inspections were conducted at the seed shops of Tarun Mishra, Hanif Traders, MD Ejaz (Dhodipani Panchayat), Narendra Nayak, Hruda Bisi (Mohara Panchayat), Raja Traders, and Balaji Pandey’s seed store.
Based on the irregularities found during the inspections, the officials issued show-cause notices to the above-mentioned seed sellers. If they fail to provide satisfactory explanations within seven days, their licenses may be temporarily suspended.
Additionally, the District Agriculture Officer’s office informed that during future raids, if the sale of unapproved seeds from any company is detected, the licenses will be permanently cancelled and recommendations for full cancellation will be made.
