Leprosy Awareness Drive Held in Pujuriguda

Kolnara: With the support of the Kolnara Community Health Center, a Leprosy Awareness Campaign (Sparsh) was organized at Pujuriguda Government High School under the Therubali Ayushman Arogya Mandir Sub-center.

During the event, teachers, students, and parents were educated about the National Leprosy Eradication Program, causes, treatment, and prevention of leprosy by Ayush doctor Rashmiprabha Dash and Public Health Extension Officer Subhashree Das from the community health center.

The event also included an oath-taking ceremony and a quiz competition. In the competition, one parent and two students performed exceptionally well and were awarded prizes.

Later, a leprosy awareness rally was organized in Pujuriguda village, where students actively participated.

The program was attended by Headmaster Srinivas Pattnayak, along with other teachers, health workers, and community representatives, including BNW Prashant Kumar Kandhagari from Kolnara Community Health Center, Health Worker Arati Bisoayi from Therubali Health Sub-center, ASHA workers Sulochana Hikaka and Lalita Pidishika, among others. The event was conducted by Public Health Extension Officer Subhashree Das.
