Bhubaneswar, 21st Nov 2025:   The government will not tolerate corruption, and officials must not just remain confined to air-conditioned offices—they must go out into the field as much as possible. Meet the people, listen to them, and resolve their problems at the district level. This is the essence of good governance.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has given this advice to district collectors to ensure an efficient and corruption-free administrative system.

A two-day district collectors and SPs conference has begun at Lok Sabha Bhavan’s KAN Inson Center. During the inaugural session, the Chief Minister shared his 9 mantras for good governance with the collectors. He emphasized using one’s authority responsibly to bring corruption-free and transparent administration at all levels. Officials should work with diligence and integrity, and corruption will never be tolerated.

Furthermore, strict instructions have been issued for action against officials who remain idle in government offices year after year. The Chief Minister said that officers who have been “sitting on a post for years without fieldwork” should be identified and immediately replaced. These changes must be completed by the end of the financial year.

The 9 mantras highlighted by the Chief Minister include:

1. Go to the field as much as possible instead of staying in the office.

2. Interact with the people and listen to their grievances patiently.

3. Give utmost importance to public complaints at the district level.

4. Do not tolerate corruption; take strict action against idle or corrupt officials.

5. Use technology extensively in governance.

6. Outsource work wherever possible in government offices to improve efficiency.

7. Use social media to enhance the success of government initiatives.

8. Protect Odia identity and culture, and respect elected representatives.

9. Take strict measures to stop illegal businesses, including sand and illicit liquor trade.

The Chief Minister instructed that officials who have remained stagnant in af single post must be identified and replaced immediately. Real-time data and technology should be used extensively to resolve issues efficiently.
