Nabarangpur The process for partial land acquisition for the proposed Nabarangpur–Junagarh railway line has begun. A notification has been issued by the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
For the new broad-gauge railway line of 116.22 km between Nabarangpur district’s Nabarangpur and Junagarh in Kalahandi district, a total of 408 acres of land across three tehsils—Nabarangpur, Nandahandi, and Papadahandi—is proposed for acquisition in 21 villages.
In Nabarangpur Tehsil, land from 5 villages—Chikili, Gummaguda, Hati Tibeda, Kesariguda, and Sanakumuli—totalling 62.882 acres will be acquired.
In Nandahandi Tehsil, land from only one village, Padalguda, amounting to 21.889 acres is proposed for acquisition.
In Papadahandi Tehsil, land from 15 villages—Auli, Bankasargi, Chandanpala, Dhansuli, Dakkaribeda, Gadabakatara, Hirli, Jhadakusumi, Kaliaguda, Mahuli, Nakatiguda, Paikakatara, Papadahandi, Patraguda, and Tumbarla—totalling 322.72 acres is planned to be acquired.
Thus, a total of 408 acres of land across the above-mentioned villages is being surveyed to establish railway connectivity from Nabarangpur to Junagarh.
As per the notification, if any person has an objection regarding the proposed land acquisition, they are advised to submit their grievance to the concerned Tehsildar within 30 days from the date of notification.
