Papadahandi: In Nabarangpur district’s Papadahandi block, near Junapani Bulani under Maidalpur police station, a truck carrying bamboo poles overturned, resulting in the death of one labourer and injuries to two others.
The deceased has been identified as Mantu Nayak from Banjibahal.
The injured are the driver Tulasi Ram Nayak and helper Bhanumali Majhi, both residents of Kalahandi district. They were taken to Maidalpur Health Centre by the police for treatment.
The truck (registration number OD 03B 1783) was transporting bamboo poles from Dabugaon to Ampani in Kalahandi district. Near the Panighati area close to Junapani Bulani, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the truck to overturn.
Mantu Nayak died on the spot due to the impact.
Personnel from the Papadahandi fire brigade and Maidalpur police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem examination.
