Kotpad, 24th Sept 2025: In a remarkable achievement, Kundura Tehsil has secured the first position among the top 20 tehsils in southern Odisha in the ongoing land records correction drive (Prajakhana Shanshodhan).
According to Tehsildar Binod Kumar, who shared this update on behalf of the government, the drive involves surveying lands of deceased patta (land title) holders and issuing updated pattas to their legal heirs. The process began in March this year, and so far, a total of 19,050 individuals have been surveyed in Kundura block, out of which 2,155 have already been granted pattas. The remaining are in process.
Kundura Outshines 9 Districts of Southern Odisha
Among the 9 districts under the Southern Division—Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, and Rayagada—Kundura Tehsil has shown outstanding performance, topping the list due to its efficiency and proactive execution.
This success is credited to continuous monitoring and review by the District Collector and Additional District Collector. Tehsildar Mr. Nayak extended the credit to all office staff, acknowledging their dedication and hard work in making this achievement possible.
Notably, in July, Kundura Tehsil had secured the 6th rank in the state for this initiative. Within just two months, it has climbed to the top among tehsils in Southern Odisha, marking another significant milestone.
The success has been attributed to the efforts of the Tehsildar and a team of 8 staff members working under his supervision. Their hard work has brought pride to the region, and the team has received congratulatory messages from various quarters.
