Kotpad, Jan, 05: Jagannath Dishari, a Class 10 student of PM SHRI Government Boys’ High School in the Kotpad area of Koraput district, has been selected to represent the Odisha team in the Inter-State School Basketball Championship. Jagannath was selected through basketball trials and received training in Bhubaneswar.
The 69th Inter-State Under-17 Basketball Championship will be held this month at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh. A total of 26 students from various schools across Odisha have been selected for the tournament.
Devaprasad Sahu, physical education teacher from Maharathi Vidyapitha, Bhubaneswar, and coach Prasanna Nayak will accompany the team to participate in the competition. Headmistress Sabita Sadangi and physical education teacher Pradeep Goud have expressed their hopes and confidence regarding Jagannath’s participation and performance in the prestigious basketball event.
