Kotpad, 26th Aug 2025: Various irregularities have been reported in Kotpad region. At present, there is an acute shortage of fertilizer, while some farmers have alleged that fake fertilizers mixed with sand are being sold in the area.
In such a situation, people have been discussing the need for urgent intervention and action by the MLA. Senior advocate Pankaj Kumar and Pradip Kumar Bakshi, along with local residents, met Kotpad MLA Rupu Bhattarai and requested him to take steps to resolve these problems.
Kotpad block and NAC areas are also facing multiple issues. The residents also requested for the restoration of Debanmunda and Damayanti ponds, and the opening of three new science departments at Kotpad College.
After being apprised of the problems and irregularities, MLA Bhattarai assured that necessary steps will be taken by writing to the concerned departmental officers and holding discussions with them. He said that under the “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” programme, efforts will be made for the development of Kotpad within the vision of a developed Odisha and developed India.
