Kotpad: The Jagdalpur–Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express narrowly escaped a major accident on Sunday. The train had departed from Jagdalpur station at 4:25 PM heading toward Bhubaneswar. Shortly after departure, near Ambaguda station on the Chhattisgarh–Odisha border, the train reportedly broke into two parts due to a coupling failure.
After traveling a short distance, the loco pilot managed to stop the train. The coaches that had separated from the engine also rolled for a short distance before coming to a halt. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Upon receiving the information, the Koraput railway rescue team reached the site, carried out necessary repairs, and the train resumed its journey normally. However, due to the incident, the train was delayed by approximately three hours.
