Kotpad NAC Celebrates Odia Language Day with Cultural Programs and Community Engagement

Kotpad : Today, Odia Language Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Kotpad Notified Area Council. The celebration was held on the occasion of the Odia New Year and Maha Bishuba Sankranti, marking the final stage of the “Odia Paksha” (Odia Fortnight) on April 15.

As part of the celebration, various cultural activities were organized involving local women, sisters, members of self-help groups, and sanitation workers. The programs included traditional games like hulahuli, jhuti, muruj (art with colored powders), chita (floor decorations), and competitions in preparing traditional Odia pitha (cakes).

Winners of these competitions were awarded certificates of appreciation and gifts by the Council. The event was graced by the honorable Chairman of the Council, M. Shankar Rao, Executive Officer Puja Raut, other council members, office staff, journalists, and intellectuals from the Kotpad region. Their active participation made the day a grand success.
