Kotpad, Dec, 10: The district-level football tournament organized on the occasion of ‘Parab’ at Bhairab Padia, Kotpad, has concluded successfully. A total of 11 teams from across the district participated in the competition.
The final match was fiercely contested between the Kotpad team and the Semiliguda team. Since no team scored within the stipulated time, the winner was decided through a penalty shootout. Kotpad emerged victorious with a 5-4 goal margin and was declared the champion team.
The tournament was organized with the cooperation of Kotpad Sporting Club. Koraput District Sports Officer, Bayajant Tripathi, attended as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included Kotpad Block Vice President Tapan Panigrahi, NSC President Shankar Rao, Additional Tahsildar Parshu Samarth, NSC Executive Officer Kamalesh Mahant, Sporting Club Editor Sitanath Biswal, and Vice President M.D. Salim, among others, who encouraged the players.
