Kotpad Celebrates Peaceful Bali Yatra After 19 Years

Kotpad, : The Bali Yatra organized by the Kotpad Management Committee was celebrated peacefully and with great enthusiasm. This year’s celebration, which lasted for 47 days, witnessed a much larger turnout of devotees compared to previous years.

A grand procession circled the town and reached the Bhima Temple premises, where a massive gathering of devotees paid homage. The Puja Committee and administration took extensive measures to ensure peace and order throughout the festivities.

The grand procession began from the sacred seat of the local Sheetala Thakurani Temple and saw thousands of devotees participating. Women dressed in traditional attire carrying kalash (holy pots) and men led the devotional procession to the immersion site, creating a deeply spiritual and festive atmosphere.

Following the main rituals, various cultural programs continued late into the night, offering entertainment and devotion in equal measure.

The event was marked by grandeur. Around 300 young men and women participated in kalashi dance performances, while hundreds of other devotees took part in the immersion ceremony. During this, newly harvested crops were also ceremonially immersed as an offering, showcasing gratitude for nature’s bounty.
