New Delhi, Feb 21: Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka met Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and demanded reliable 4G mobile network services across all remote areas of Koraput district and Rayagada district.
During the meeting on Tuesday, the MP pointed out that many areas in both districts are still deprived of mobile network connectivity. As a result, people in tribal-dominated regions are being deprived of emergency healthcare, education, livelihood support, banking, and other welfare services.
He proposed that to ensure proper mobile network infrastructure, quarterly reviews should be conducted covering surveys, approvals, tower construction, and power supply so that telecom services can be made available without delay.
He also suggested that for each village, the actual ground status should be tracked — including approvals, surveys, infrastructure construction progress, causes of delay, and expected completion dates. Issues related to forest clearance, wildlife permission, land allocation, and contractor-level problems should also be reviewed.
The MP further urged that repeated delays be investigated and acted upon, independent verification be carried out on which villages are receiving network coverage, and district-level systems be set up to resolve complaints related to call drops and weak network service.
He requested that the Union Communications Ministry conduct regular monitoring until 100% network coverage is achieved in Koraput and Rayagada districts.
