Jeypore: In Koraput district, 27 livelihood support assistants (LSPs) have been working under Odisha Livelihood Mission across 14 blocks for more than six years. After a long time, with the aim to strengthen the district organization, a proposal was raised in the initial meeting held at Police Padia to form a new district-level LSP association.
After a month, in a gathering attended by LSPs from all blocks, a new association named LSP Sangha Koraput was formally established. In this meeting, Tapan Hial was elected as the new district president and Madhab Guntha as the secretary.
From today, matters concerning the joys and struggles of LSP brothers — starting from the village level to the panchayat, block, district, and state — will be discussed and addressed. All attendees supported the proposal to empower the newly elected president and secretary with full responsibilities of the district association.
Prominent attendees included Mangulu Khul, Shibashankar Khemundu, Sushanta Hial, Suresh Hental, Chandra Dura, Damodar Guntha, and LSP representatives from all blocks. The meeting was smoothly conducted from start to finish by Mangulu Khul, who also offered heartfelt thanks to all the LSP brothers present, officially concluding the session.
