Koraput, 22nd Sept 2025: The central government has launched a new nationwide campaign named “Susu Nari Sashakt Parivar” aimed at screening women for various diseases. The campaign was inaugurated in Koraput district at a program held at the Gandhinagar Sub-Divisional Health Center.
Koraput MLA Mr. Raghuram Machh attended as the chief guest and officially launched the campaign. The program was presided over by Koraput District Chief Medical and Public Health Officer Dr. Ravindranath Mishra.
The campaign will continue until 2nd October, said MLA Machh, emphasizing that a healthy woman means a strong family. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this campaign on his birthday.
District Collector Manoj Satyavan Mahajan stated that over 4,000 health camps will be conducted across Koraput district. These camps will screen women for blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and other diseases.
Women of Koraput district have been urged by the District Collector to visit Ayushman Arogya Mandir, health groups, and primary health centers to register and undergo health check-ups.
Also present at the event were district officials including Zilla Parishad Chairperson Sasmita Meleka, ADPHO (Family Welfare) Dr. Neel Madhav Satapathy, DPHO Dr. Debadatta Mallik, Dr. Muktikant Khatua, District Social Welfare Officer Jyostna Padi, Child Welfare Officer Savitri Prabha Sahu, among others.
The National Health Mission’s DPM Umesh Prasad Shadangi conducted the meeting, while medical officers and supervisors from various departments actively participated and assisted in organizing the event.
On the first day, around 217 women were screened for various diseases at the health center.
A food exhibition prepared by women’s groups was also organized and inaugurated by MLA Machh.
To mark the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, MLA Machh cut a special “Mandia” (millet) cake brought by the women’s groups and served it to social activist Subhadra Hitadhukari.
