Kolnara, 12th Aug 2025: After the demise of Jani Gopal Yojita Kandagari of the Kolnara block headquarters village, Pradeep Kandagari has been newly appointed as the Jani and priest according to tribal customs and rules. On this occasion, at the Ma’ Mutyaluma temple, a meeting was held by the temple trust, which was attended by the temple trust president Ipili Dhavaleshwar Naidu, editor Jagannath Dora, treasurer Trinath Toika, advisor Ramchandra Dora, Prashant Kumar Jena, senior citizen Ipili Ramarao, M. Adinarayan, and many villagers.
At the temple, Beju Raju Pidika performed the worship. Among the eight names selected by the villagers as per tribal rules, Pradeep’s name was announced.
Later, Pradeep was honored by the villagers and the temple committee with sandalwood paste, sindoor (vermilion), and flower garlands. He was seated on a cot and taken in a procession from the temple to the village.
The new Jani Pradeep will perform the traditional rituals of the village deity Jhankiri and will serve the Ma’ Mutyaluma temple every Tuesday during worship, as informed by trust president Mr. Naidu.
