Kolkata Waterlogged After Torrential Rain

Kolkata, 29th Sept 2025: Kolkata is waterlogged due to heavy rain. The city is submerged everywhere — water and more water. Roads, ghats are flooded; water has entered homes. Five deaths have been reported due to rain-related incidents. Continuous rainfall has been ongoing since yesterday. Waterlogging has occurred in various places. Low-lying areas remain submerged in water. The rain has become a major obstacle for Durga Puja preparations. A record 247 mm rainfall has been recorded in Alipore. Train services at Howrah, Sealdah South Station, and Chitpur North Cabin have been disrupted. Kolkata Metro services have also been affected by the rain. Water is being pumped out from various locations.
