Jeypore: Admissions for the newly established Kendriya Vidyalaya in Jaypur will be held from June 2 to 16. Classes are scheduled to begin in the first week of July. This information was shared during a public meeting organized by the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) near the local government high school in Jaypur. Saroj Kumar Das, Deputy In-Charge of Jaypur Kendriya Vidyalaya and Principal of Koraput KV, provided the details.
Classes will begin from this academic year itself at the Kendriya Vidyalaya, starting from Class I to Class V. Harihar Panda has been appointed as the Principal-in-charge and Govind Behera as a teacher. Application forms for admission from Class I to V will be available from June 2 to 17.
All procedures will be conducted online. Applications will be accepted until 5 PM on June 16. While applying, students will need to submit:
Passport-size photo
Birth certificate
If parents are employed in central/state government, the first page of the service book
Caste certificate
Residence proof
Disability certificate (for students with 40% or more disability)
All formalities must be completed by June 21. The final list will be submitted to the District Collector and Sub-Collector. The admission process will begin on June 22 and 23, and classes will commence from July 1.
Each class will have only one section, with a seating capacity of 40 students per section. The minimum age for Class I is 6 years, and subsequent classes require one year more respectively (i.e., 7 years for Class II, 8 for Class III, 9 for Class IV, and 10 for Class V). Each year, one new class will be added. Plans are in place for the construction of a permanent building for the school.
Harihar Panda and Govind Behera have officially joined as staff members, as informed by Saroj Kumar Das, the Nodal Officer from Koraput KV. Admission forms will be available free of cost at the Cherry Office from 8 AM to 12 Noon starting June 2.
According to the Right to Education Act (RTE), 25% of the total seats (i.e., 10 seats out of 40) are reserved for disadvantaged children. As per the guidelines, priority admission will be given to children of Central Government employees, followed by those from Central PSU/Autonomous Bodies, State Government employees, and others.
A certificate from the head of the office will be required to verify the employment status of parents. After admitting children of government employees, remaining seats will be filled through a lottery system for the general public. The RTE committee will conduct the lottery draw in the presence of parents.
