Nabarangpur, Dec, 16: As part of the celebration of Mandei Festival 2025, an attractive district-level Kantha (embroidered quilt) art competition was organized today at the office premises of the District Collector, Nabarangpur.

The event was successfully coordinated by the District Education Officer, District Welfare Officer, and District Culture Officer. The competition was divided into two categories: student level and professional level.

In both categories, a total of 20 enthusiastic participants took part—10 students and 10 professionals from across Nabarangpur district. The successful participants will be awarded on the Mandei Festival stage.

During the event, Additional District Collector (General) Tapan Kumar Khuntia personally presented participation certificates to each artist in recognition of their efforts. On this occasion, nine other Additional District Collectors encouraged the participants and provided guidance to help them advance their creative journeys.

The judging panel included Padmalochan Barik, art teacher; Bishwajit Giri, art teacher; EV Papadahandi; and Basant Benia, distinguished art educators. They selected the top three winners in each category.

It has been requested that everyone participate in the Mehendi competition to be held on 8th December at Nabarangpur Women’s College.
