Kamadhenu Cow Care Trust Holds Meeting in Kendujhar on Cow Protection

Kendujhar, 17th Nov 2025:  A review meeting of the Kamadhenu Cow Care Trust was held at the Shaheed Sadan Auditorium in Kendujhar with trust members and intellectuals in attendance.

The program began with veteran Dr. Arun Sahu performing prayers to Goddess Tarini, a revered deity in Kendujhar. The meeting was chaired by Monalisa Dash, a trustee of the Kamadhenu Trust.

During the meeting, discussions focused on:

  • Protection of cows
  • Establishment of gaushalas (cow shelters)
  • Care of cows and other animals
  • Protection of stray animals found on roads

Plans were made to identify land and ensure all necessary arrangements for cows. The trust continues to provide care and protection for stray cows, bulls, oxen, and dogs in Kendujhar city and across various blocks in the district.

For the protection of cattle and livestock, it was proposed to hold discussions in the coming days with:

  • District livestock office
  • Municipalities and block authorities
  • National highway authorities
  • The meeting also proposed steps to rescue stray animals found on roads.

Authorities from Kendujhar town municipality and Sadar Block were invited to convert confiscated cattle pens (Kanjia Huda) into cow rescue centers.

It was decided that further discussions would be held with the District Collector and higher officials regarding trust-related initiatives.

During the meeting, trust member Saroja Dash read out the report and provided information about the trust’s mission and activities. Editor Monalisa Dash appealed for everyone’s cooperation in accelerating the trust’s work in the coming days.

Satyajit Samantaray, Dr. Shaktikant Jena, Bibhuti Bhushan Dash, Mahendra Kumar Sahu, Pratap Kumar Jhara, Laxmidhar Nayak, Duryodhan Mahant, Girija Shankar Dash, Neelamani Sahu, Debraj Acharya, Jagadish Rathore, Hitesh Rathore, Subrat Kumar Mahanti, Saroja Prasad Das, Soumya Ranjan Sahu, Ritanjali Tudu, Ranmani Sethi, and Divya Prasad Ba.

The meeting emphasized cow protection, care for stray cattle, and coordination with authorities for implementing effective measures.
