Jharigaon – A severe Kalbaishakhi storm accompanied by heavy rain, thunder, and strong winds struck the Ichhapur Panchayat in Jharigaon block of Nabarangpur district last night. As a result, 14 out of 24 asbestos sheets on the house of Rushi Harijan in Dumuniguda village were blown away. Similarly, 8 asbestos sheets on the house of orphan Chhatria were damaged and destroyed by the wind, according to reports.
Both families belong to economically disadvantaged groups. There is now a demand for the administration to provide necessary assistance. Upon receiving the news, local Sarpanch Jagadish Majhi visited the affected area, held discussions with the victims, and reportedly brought the incident to the attention of the Jharigaon Revenue Inspector.
