Kalahandi: In Ghantiguda village under Mahima Panchayat of Kokasara block, a group of concerned women today locked the local Anganwadi Centre in protest. The Anganwadi worker there has been accused of misappropriating food items meant for children, pregnant, and lactating women.
According to the allegations, the Anganwadi worker, Sushiladhangda Majhi, has been irregular in distributing food items such as chhatua (nutritional mix), eggs, and other supplementary nutrition supplies intended for the beneficiaries. When complaints were raised, the worker allegedly misbehaved with the complainants instead of addressing their concerns.
On the other hand, when asked for her response, the Anganwadi worker outright refused to comment.
