Rasulpur, Nov 24:  A five-day training camp for Kabaddi players under the age of 14 and 17 from Jajpur district was organized at the Government High School in Khandita, Rasulpur block. The camp was conducted for both boys and girls.

A total of 48 players, along with four coaches and managers, nominated from the block level, participated in the camp. The camp was conducted under the direct supervision of Headmaster Sunanda Raut.

As trainers, Krushnakant Panda, sports teacher Suresh Chandra Sahu, Anadi Charan Sahu, and Amulya Das provided the players with advanced knowledge and skills of the game.

Selection for Competition

Based on the performance in the camp, a district Kabaddi team has been formed comprising the most skilled players. Four teams, including both boys and girls, will participate in the state-level Kabaddi competition in Sundargarh.

Through the training camp, seven players from each category were given the opportunity to play, and positions for raiders, defenders, and all-rounders were finalized during the camp.

This year, the state-level Kabaddi competition for players under 17 is being held at the Government Girls’ High School playground in Sundargarh. Players under 14 will travel to Sundargarh on Thursday to participate, according to Headmaster Raut.
