Kotpad, 9th Oct 2025: Justice Chittaranjan Dash, the Portfolio Judge of Koraput district under the Orissa High Court, visited the Kotpad Court. Upon his arrival at the court premises, he was warmly felicitated by the Bar Association.
During his visit, Justice Dash toured the court premises, including the newly proposed Bar Hall and the under-construction transit house. A memorandum was submitted by the association requesting the establishment of a new Civil Court in Kotpad.
It was informed to him that Kotpad, being a border block of the state, poses difficulties for both senior and junior advocates who have to travel nearly 80 km, incurring expenses and facing inconvenience in commuting. The association highlighted that the process for setting up a Civil Court had already been initiated earlier. They also informed him that residences in the Irrigation Colony had been handed over to the Judicial Department for magistrates.
Justice C.R. Dash assured that all aspects concerning the establishment of the Civil Court would be taken into consideration and necessary steps would be taken.
