Navarangpur, Dec, 24:  The 8th District-Level Junior Red Cross Education and Training Camp, organized by the District Education Department of Navarangpur, was successfully conducted. Over 600 students participated in the camp, gaining awareness about the qualities needed to become responsible citizens. The camp was held at the government higher secondary school in Kosagumuda Block. On the final day, group education officer Samarendra Bhowmik hoisted the Red Cross flag.

The camp was presided over by College Principal Pavitra Haldar, Red Cross Editor Prabhat Pattnayak, District Red Cross Officer Prakashini Choudhury, Red Cross Co-Editor Nalini Kant Patra, along with all council members and participating juniors. A multi-faith prayer marked the official start of the camp.

Participants carried Red Cross placards and took part in a city procession along the main road of Kosagumuda. Afterwards, cleaning activities were conducted along roadsides, at hospitals, and school premises. The training program was inaugurated by District Red Cross Officer Prakashini Choudhury. All juniors received training in primary first aid. An exhibition of handicrafts was also organized.

In the afternoon, quiz competitions and celebratory events were conducted. The program was chaired by the District Red Cross President Chhatrapati Sahu and attended by senior guests, including Block Vice President Jogendra Swain, representative of the Minister of Mass Education Kunj Bihari Dash, BDO Ashish Tripathy, Group Education Officer Samarendra Bhowmik, Red Cross Editor Prabhat Pattnayak, District Red Cross Officer Prakashini Choudhury, and Higher Secondary School Principal Pavitra Haldar.

Awards were distributed to students who excelled in various competitions. A blood donation camp was also organized during the program, collecting 36 units of blood. The stage management was handled by Nalini Kant Patra.
