Kosagumuda, Dec, 29: The eighth district-level Junior Red Cross (JRC) education and training camp, conducted with the support of the District Education Department, concluded on Saturday at the Government Higher Secondary School, Kosagumuda, in Nabarangpur district.
BEO Samarendra Bhowmik hoisted the Red Cross flag. The program began with an all-faith prayer and a yoga camp, organized in the presence of Organising Secretary and college principal Pabitra Haldar, Red Cross Secretary Prabhat Pattanayak, District Red Cross Officer Prakashini Choudhury, Joint Red Cross Secretary Nalinikanta Patra, along with all counsellors and junior members.
The participating Red Cross juniors marched through Kosagumuda town carrying banners and placards. Cleanliness drives were carried out along roadsides, at the community health centre, and within the school परिसर. District Red Cross Officer Prakashini Choudhury inaugurated the training sessions, during which all juniors were trained in first aid. A Jhoti (traditional floor art) competition on first-aid awareness was also organized. On this occasion, a handicrafts exhibition by the participants was held, followed by a quiz competition.
After the completion of the training activities, the valedictory ceremony was organized under the chairmanship of the District Education Officer and Red Cross President. The event was attended by Block Vice-Chairperson Jyogendra Swain, representative of the Education Minister Kunja Bihari Das, BDO Ashish Tripathy, BEO Samarendra Bhowmik, District Red Cross Secretary Prabhat Pattanayak, District Red Cross Officer Prakashini Choudhury, and Higher Secondary School Principal Pabitra Haldar.
The guests awarded prizes to the winners of various competitions. The stage proceedings were conducted by Nalinikanta Patra. Students of Panduguda High School secured first place in the cultural program.
