Nabarangpur,: The Working Journalists’ Union of the district has submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent of Police (SP) regarding the alleged misconduct of police personnel from Amilipadar in Gariaband district, Chhattisgarh, towards journalist Purna Takri, who was working in the Umarkote region.
In the absence of the SP, Additional SP Aditya Sen received the memorandum and assured that the issue would be looked into. During the submission of the memorandum, several members of the association were present, including President P. Prakash Rao, Kishore Pattnayak, Ravi Pattnayak, Navaghan Bishoyi, Debiprasad Pattnayak, Sridhar Patra, Sukanta Kumar Rath, Swadhin Panda, Kuna Patra, E. Sattash, and Koresh Uparsi.
According to reports, on Sunday afternoon, police personnel from Amilipadar visited the Koilimunda Dhaba near the border and allegedly threatened the owner while forcibly taking away goods. Upon receiving this information, journalist Purna Takri and his colleague Suraj Bagarsi reached the spot and began recording the incident. However, they reportedly became victims of police aggression.
