Sambalpur, 7th Aug 2025: Journalist Naveen Das, who was severely injured in a road accident, remains in a critical condition at VIMSAR, Burla, where he is undergoing treatment in the ICU. Six days after the accident, he is yet to regain consciousness.
As per reports, the accident occurred last Saturday while Naveen was returning with his wife from the Mukteshwar temple in Jamankira. Both were immediately admitted to the Burla medical college hospital following the mishap.
Due to the severity of his condition, Naveen was shifted to the ICU at VIMSAR in an unconscious state. Doctors had initially expected him to regain consciousness within 48 hours, but no significant improvement has been observed so far. He was scheduled to undergo a leg surgery today, but the procedure has been postponed due to his unstable health. Intermittent cardiac irregularities are also being reported.
People from various walks of life are praying for his speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, Naveen’s wife, who was also injured in the accident, has been discharged from the hospital after recovering.
His father, senior journalist Prahallad Das, is himself ailing due to age-related health issues, while his mother is also reported to be suffering from multiple health complications.
