Malkangiri, 7th Oct 2025:  A Joint Public Grievance Hearing Camp was conducted today at the Manyamkonda Gram Panchayat Office under Kalimela Block.

District Collector Somesh Upadhyay and Superintendent of Police Vinod Patil H. attended the camp and personally listened to public grievances. A total of 77 complaints were heard today — among them, 19 were individual grievances and 58 were collective complaints.

Breakdown of the types of grievances:

  • 12 related to forest land
  • 12 about land/property matters
  • 3 about employment
  • 1 health card issue
  • 2 related to drinking water
  • 2 related to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)
  • 3 concerning Anganwadi services
  • 6 related to social security pensions
  • 36 related to roads and housing infrastructure

To resolve these issues immediately, the administration set up help desks offering online services such as:

  • Ration card updates
  • Labor card registration
  • Aadhaar card updates
  • Forest land patta (ownership) issues
  • Social security pension registration
  • Farmer registration
  • Housing scheme applications
  • Achievements from today’s camp:
  • 44 people were registered for social security pensions
  • 91 laborers were issued labor cards
  • 229 construction workers received a financial assistance amounting to ₹1,01,86,400
  • 2 beneficiaries were registered under PMAY for housing
  • 9 beneficiaries were registered for ration cards
  • 3 farmers were newly registered
  • Aadhaar cards of 5 people were updated

This innovative effort by the District Collector has allowed many rural beneficiaries to access essential online services quickly and efficiently.
