Jharsuguda, 16th Oct 2025:  A Public Grievance Hearing Camp was held at Lakhanpur Block of Jharsuguda district, under the leadership of Additional District Collector Brajabandhu Bhoi.

The event was attended by Police Officer Raghavendra Reddy of Aksak Gundala, Sub-Collector Sabyasachi Panda, Block Chairperson, BDO, Tahsildar, and several other district and block-level officers.

During the camp:

A total of 65 grievances were received, out of which 41 were individual and 24 were collective complaints.

All grievances were heard, and concerned departmental officers were instructed to take necessary action for resolution.

Key Issues Raised:

1. Compensation by MCL Ib Valley,

2. Crop destruction by wild animals in Kanaktora,

3. Demand to ban the sale of illicit liquor in Kumarbandh,

4. Negligence by companies and administration towards OPJCC displaced families, raised by displaced individuals like Shobharam Sahu, Amulya Sahu, Geeti Ranjan Sahu, seeking justice and rights.

5. Infrastructure and basic amenities:

Classroom issues in Jhar village,

Concrete roads cracking due to underground pipelines in Kumarbandh,

Electricity bill corrections in Pandari,

Construction of concrete road from Bhaunrakhol to Sagarapali,

Recognition for formation of a new block from 19 revenue villages,

Drinking water problems in Pithunda,

Multiple civic issues in Belpahar Municipality,

Illegal use of dam water and fishing without permission in Pithunda.

6. Administrative and development demands:

Establishment of new Panchayat and Sub-division in Lakhanpur,

Teacher appointments in Bhaunrakhol,

Low voltage and street light repairs,

Resumption of ferry services at Jarimuli Danga Ghat,

Construction of washing platforms and cattle sheds at Katatikra,

Irrigation (lakikaran) arrangement in Koilighugar,

Road repairs in Samarabaga.
