Jharsuguda,Jan, 02:The district administration organized a block-level public grievance hearing camp to address the problems faced by residents of the Belpahad area. The camp was conducted under the chairmanship of District Collector Mr. Kunal Motiram Chhanan, IAS. A total of 31 grievances were heard during the camp, including 11 collective complaints and 20 individual complaints.
The main issues discussed at the camp included problems in the Swargadwar area of Belpahad, disputes regarding drivers’ wages, and accidents caused by illegal truck parking in the region. Additionally, matters such as removal of illegal liquor shops near Jorabaga High School, proper allocation of funds for the construction of a community center in Nuapada Belpahad, and construction of drains at various locations were raised by the public.
Special attention was given to environmental and employment-related issues. Concerns were highlighted regarding pollution caused by coal washers located on main rural roads, and requests were made to permanently shut them down. In Chualibarna area, complaints were lodged about pollution and extensive damage to homes caused by blasting activities from MMCL and other washeries.
Other issues included delays in pavement construction in Gumadera area and employment-related problems in Kandasara region. The District Collector heard all these grievances carefully and instructed the relevant departmental officials to immediately investigate the issues and take necessary action.
